M3 is the latest member of Mumu lunch box series. We kept it simple - M from Mumu, and 3 from the compartment slots. The pronunciation for M3 too sounds like entry, a metaphor of the entry-level size & capacity (among the lunch boxes)
As our children develop, we have had plenty of different food containers & lunch boxes cater for different needs. However, we too noticed the gaps of those on the shelf -- it was not easy getting something that's leak-proof with watertight compartments, advocate suku suku separuh healthy balance diet concept, versatile, able to retain heat (for at least 2hrs), made of food-grade materials, & affordable
The closest in market was no other than the oversea brand ThxxkSpxxt (which easily cost RM200+++) and doesn't seem friendly for lower income group. We want to introduce a companion that is reliable for years to come, because it is indeed a product designer's role to improve user experience, address the unmet needs, & deliver the convenience that users are not aware of yet -- and that's how we produced both Tiga & Lima back in 2020
Some might find it redundant -- why do we come out with yet another 3-compartments lunch box though? Doesn't it sound duplicated & conflict with the existing Mumu Tiga? Well, Mumu Team listens to feedbacks & requests from our dearest users, and we constantly (but randomly) probe our users too to see how we could further improve their user experience (you might be receiving love notes from our customer service personnel from time-to-time)
From what we've observed & analyzed, we believe it's worth having a new option combining the strength of both Tiga & Lima. By doing so, we cater to the needs of different use cases, & making it easier for the younger children in managing their own belongings
Tiga is best known for its PU insulated layers -- have you ever wonder what is the "PU layer" stated on our Tiga's packaging box? How is it going to work as insulation? It is in fact a foam layer embedded on both the top & the bottom of Tiga lunch box. Aside from heat retention, the said foam helps to prevent hot foods from burning your fingers. However, Tiga does come with a major downfall -- the built-in parts stick with one another, and users are not able to remove them to wash nor sterilize thoroughly. With Tiga, users are unable to cook nor reheat foods too (since stainless steel is a big no no for microwave oven, and PP plastic is not suitable for either food steamer or electric oven)
On the other hand, Lima is unique due to the leak-proof & watertight detachable compartments with translucent PP lids. Having a see-through feature makes your bento meal visually attractive & easier to tell if you are following the route to a balance meal. Detachable containers too enable users to use as they need -- either all five as a whole, or to bring just one or two as users are on-the-go. In case of misplaced parts (or in case users would like to add-on), Mumu Team does offer the lids & stainless steel containers for sell. However, this feature too puts mothers in dilemma - they have way too many parts to wash (and / or sterilize), which is quite a burden for busy mums

Based on market research, younger users have difficulties with the as-is Tiga & Lima, for they need to bring along their bags & water bottles too. The options were slightly too big & heavy (with foods), and younger children found it a pain to carry by themselves. With the new M3, we want to provide an alternative with the benefits from both ends -- big capacity, leak-proof & watertight, detachable compartments, smaller size, lighter weight, & friendlier to younger children
- as a newcomer in 2021, M3 comes with 3-compartments, namely 2 x 140ml + 1 x 440ml, making it a total of 720ml & weight 420g (add-up to 530g with spork & insulated bag)
- the lunch box package comes with thick & quality insulated bag (with multiple pockets) & a spork utensil -- your child can be light on-the-go yet fully equipped with everything he/she needs
- made of quality food-grade materials (SUS304 stainless steel + grade 5 PP + TPR for watertight feature)
- Mumu is strict when it comes to children products -- we uses eco-friendly non-toxic soy-based ink as color pigments
- we want to ensure safety of your family -- if we are not handing over a harmful product / particle to our children, then there is NO reason for us to be putting any harm on the shelf at all

- we design the insulated bag to be friendlier to the tiny hands -- the handle is placed on top to not strain the small wrists -- and we too have great confidence in our M3's leak-proof capability, in which we believe your child could welcome your bento packed with love without any spill not leakage at all
- in fact, our daughter too love mimicking our daily activities -- she wants to have her own briefcase for work. Having something similar (but more like a mini version) encourages her to actively involve in helping around, and doing so boost her sense of achievement as well

Warning:
- the stainless steel compartments can be used directly on food steamer and electric oven (for baking purposes)
- it is totally safe to bake foods using stainless steel compartments (in electric oven), however we recommend wearing gloves before serving, as the surface is very hot
- however, please DO NOT reheating food in microwave oven -- the main cause is NOT about the temperature -- stainless steel can withstand up to 500 degrees Celsius, whereby home-based electric oven is merely about 200 degrees Celsius
- we say NO to microwave oven, because it works on a different mechanism -- stainless steel will block the heat from warming your food, damages your microwave / cause fire / explosion

M3 advocates suku suku separuh healthy balance meal concept (as per KKM's guidelines). We attached reference card with every lunch box purchase, so that buyers could have a better understanding of what to expect, & what to prepare. As Asian, no doubt we're conditioned to allocate the biggest portion on our dining plate for carbs (e.g. rice, noodle, pasta, corns, potatoes, etc).
